Doing God’s Will as our Only Option

TWENTY-SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Eze.18:25-28/Phil.2:1-11/Matt.21:28-32

Doing God’s Will as our Only Option

Christ Jesus, by his humility and obedience, modelled for all Christians the significance of human integrity and dignity in the role of salvation. Despite our fallen human nature, God stands in solidarity with us. However, he never expects us to exploit his generosity and hospitality.

Divine justice is trustworthy and dependable. It rewards each person according to his or her deeds and misdeed. Sirach and Jesus, respectively, in today's Liturgy of the Word, beg us to practice integrity and uphold our human dignity at all times. Like the tax collectors and prostitutes, when we fall to not hesitate to reconsider the option to come back to the Father. Be humble and obedient.

Lord, teach me how to walk in your footsteps.
